Wanna Be Friends? The Healing Power of Connection

Do you remember when you were a kid, and it could be as simple as this? You meet someone, feel connected, want to be friends, ask them, and just like that...you become friends. Maybe for months, years, and decades to come! Cultivating the intimacy that only resides within a friendship, navigating conflict, and making new friends can enrich human life from our earliest memories to our final days.

Guest: Dr. Don Azevedo

Dr. Don Azevedo

Dr. Azevedo has enjoyed a long career in clinical psychology. He has practiced in various settings, from hospitals, corporate board rooms, family businesses, and combat zones to individual and group practices. He specializes in leadership development in the corporate world and marital therapy in the private world. He has trained in several models of marital therapy and seeks to repair marriages and families where he can. He is a certified Discernment Counselor, a process developed by Dr. Bill Doherty for couples struggling to decide if they want marital therapy or a path to divorce. He is a certified Collaborative Divorce Coach who works with couples who have chosen the path of divorce and wish to do so with dignity and grace. Bottom line -- Dr. Azevedo is all about relationships, whether with yourself, your spouse, your children, your family of origin, friends, or your work colleagues. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling with his wife of 40 years, hosting a podcast about relationships, and doing voiceover projects that come his way.
